The impala (Aepyceros melampus) is a medium-sized African antelope. Its height ranges between 75 and 95 cm and it weighs between 40–60 kg.It is found in savannas and thick bushveld in Kenya, Tanzania, Swaziland, Mozambique, northern Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, southern Angola, northeastern South Africa, and Uganda.The common impala is one of the most abundant antelopes in Africa, with about one-quarter of the population occurring in protected areas.
